Professional Make-up Practices - Comprehensive Skills

Intensive Programme: Beginner developing to advanced.

Full Time 18 days Monday - Saturday. 10am - 5pm.

This HMA course will guide a complete beginner to foundation level and through to advanced. If you are looking for a fully comprehensive course and are passionate about becoming a make-up artist then this course will give you all the skills you need for the journey. Hair skills are included along with all elements of make-up design, adornment and concept. This includes the option of joining the prestigious HMA Programme. This is totally unique to HMA. The course is designed to be fun and inspirational..

Key areas of fashion make-up history are covered to give you fully comprehensive skills to utilise to create your own modern make-up looks. Trends from each important era are constantly referred to in fashion looks. To learn these classic looks gives you the knowledge and skills to provide informed and inventive uses of make-up. As professional artist's we were taught these historic looks and found them key to update for fashion looks.

Catwalk Make-up, Advanced

Siobhon Luckie and Sam Norman refer to thier own catwalk experience to teach you about designing a make-up look for a designers brief. There will be a talk on current trends. You will then design your own catwalk look with the guidance and help of your experienced tutors.

Business Brainstorm Session - Starting you into the industry..

 

PHOTOSHOOT: At the end of the course you will do a professional photoshoot with a top photographer and professional models from one of Londons top model agencies, included in your course fee You will then have the opportunity to join our HMA Image lab scheme which continues to support you after your study.

HMA GRADUATE SHOOTS: Take a look at our image lab page to see examples of our end of course HMA PRO BEAUTY SHOOT, shot by some of our fantastic HMA photographers these are personally art directed on the day by our international artists. These shots are then edited for your portfolio, re-touched and supplied on disk ready for you to print.

HMA IMAGE LAB: Upon completion of this course you will be able to use our facility to shoot your beauty shoots for you, to help build your portfolio. Each shoot will cost £100 and will include studio time, a top professional photographer, re-touching of two main images and a CD of your images to print.

This look has been designed by Sam Norman and was recently shot for the amazing photographer John Wright, please see Johns work at www.johnwrightphoto.com John has shot for Lilly Allen, Florence and The Machine, Rhianna, and more. This look will be unveiled in the first HMA showcase due to go online this summer.

THE TWIST: The culmination of your course is your own project to design your own fashion version of this look. You will be taught how to secure adornment to create your own personal make-up artist stamp.

Part Seven

MAC Cosmetics and HMA Masterclass

At MAC flasghip headquarters

MAC close thier doors for us, a MAC cosmetics pro artist from the PRO team at flagship headquarters, will show you the HMA student a hot off the catwalk/fashion trend boards look and then give you the opportunity to shop with a 35 discount after this very special event.

 

Part Eight

OPTIONAL MODULE - NO Charge

Non Toxic Products Study.

We feel its important to know what is in your make-up products and be aware. We will arrange for you to have a private session with Arbonne skincare to understand chemical free skincare and an opportunity to purchase items with a 20 percent discount. There is also the opportunity to become an Arbonne representative. This module is not complusory but an opportunity to be fully informed about your product choices and what is contained in them. A good make-up artist is aware of what his or her products contain and why.

 

Part Nine - Optional

OPTIONAL BONUS MODULE

You can choose to take part in our professional beauty shoot where you will re-create one of the looks you have learnt on a professional model. This bonus module costs £100 and will provide you with an industry beauty shoot of only the best quality, shot exclusively by one of our prestigous HMA photographers.
